It would be nice if Ken Enya had this as diesel too, with a lot of folks converting to multitude of electrics to small IC engines Cox thru 15s look at the 1/2 A site I would buy one in a flash martin

EARLwb Dooooh I shoud know that have the 11CXd martin
But the 09 a smaller footprint I know nit picking it is a smaller footprint and 128 gms versus 200gms

MVVS/Modela made 09 and 12 diesels-and glows-so did Fuji. Not that uncommon a relative size difference-and as you go up-increasingly common-how many 20/25s 28/32s are currently out there.........

With the Enya .11, the PAW 09, and the Parra engine I guess there are still enough options in that engine size. The non-Ultra Enyas are AAC and a little lighter, only about 10-15g more than the Enya 09.

MP Jet make a lovely little 0.6ici BB diesel.
Steve 111 I would be surprised if you DIDN'T have one of those!

OK guys guess its just a case of me "nit picking" for a little reduction in case size, just thought it would be a matter of Enya making a head they already have the engine
My issue with DAS ( diesel addiction syndrome) I should not be unhappy since I have the PAW 03,06,MPjet 061 , sharma 09 and 0S and TT10s with the Davis heads
and yes the Enya CX11 , the Enya 11 does have 2 sets of muffler mount screw holes drilled in it the wider spacing for the 15 , The 09 Enya is a pretty compact case

Well the Enya .09's that I have are pretty nice, but they are the old style baffled piston (cross flow scavenged) type of engines. So trying to put a contra piston on one would pose a lot of problems. Enya would have have to redesign it to use more transfer ports so that the air.fuel charge doesn't just go out of the exhaust so much, plus put in a non-baffle piston too. So again it winds up being very doubtful they would do it since they have a engine out there already in that size. Now if the engine didn't use a baffle on the piston then making up a diesel head wouldn not be an issue. But then it is whether the crankshaft and rod can handle the added diesel stress too. There have been quite a few engine examples over the years where a certain brand engine had crankshaft problems when converted to a diesel.

Yes, the baffle on the piston is the problem, there is no easy way to make a diesel head for them.
I will check some weights when I get back home, the muffler also adds a lot fo weight and they have stopped making the smaller ones. I.e. the .15 muffler is sold with their .09 and .11 engines too.

EarlWB Thx was not aware baffled piston a redesign would just not happen, thought it was a conventional piston that is an old design engine with the baffle martin

RE: enya 09
Okey, here are some weights for the RC versions without mufflers;
Glow;
Enya 09 IV; 119g
Enya 11CX (AAC); 134g
Enya Ultra 11CX (ABC); 158g
Diesels;
Enya 11CX D (AAC); 152g
Enya Ultra 11CX D (ABC); 159g
So it seems that the glow AAC is indeed very light, while the diesel version is heavier. Still fairly okey weights though for twin BB engines.
The muffler makes some difference too, the older one is around 20g while the later (.09-.15) ones are about 40g.

RE: enya 09
Hi AMB, I saw your post on the Enya .09 and since I had an old throttle version in my closet's old engine storage box, I cleaned it up, mounted a muffler that I recently found on EBay, and put it on my test-stand. It ran very nicely and smoothly, and it throttled down as reliably as any of my much-larger throttled engines. It is a remarkably well-running engine. I even contacted Davis to see if he had a diesel head for the Enya .09. He told me that the little Enya .09 never was popular enough to warrant marketing a conversion unit for it. I think that's too bad, because I agree that it would most likely perform very well as a diesel!
I wonder if anyone else out there has a source for a diesel conversion head for the Enya .09?
