The fuel ones. I've had one-pull starts out of my 18 CV-RX and one-flip starts out of my 46AX. The key is to not abuse them, keep them tuned a bit on the rich side, and keep your glow ignitor good and charged.

1: The guy that guy was replying to mentioned OS, and he was talking about OS. OS hasn't made a diesel engine in 40 or 50 years.

My frog 100 used to start first flick if I had to compression set right, now not so much because I run it far less frequently and things get knocked about.

One flip and each one started.
A Kingcat .09 diesel and a Supertigre G33 1.5cc diesel.
Back in the mid-fifties I had a McCoy .09 diesel that gave me so many one-flip starts I couldn't count them.

With no intent to offend, may I offer this thought?
The answer to part of it was posted here in March 2013, regarding FAI Team Racing usage...
Time lost to a multi-flip restart in a race heat can be the difference between a win and a lower finish... Prep for a serious team develops a refueling 'system' that applies the precise necessary prime squirt against the closed piston to assure an immediate restart.
Takes practice and development, but in this absolutely necessary circumstance, pays very well.
For most of us, who do not have fractions of second as a criterion, a one flip start may be desirable, but is not crucially important. It is better to learn how to restart without flooding the engine or inducing some other problem. Consistent, one or few, flip starts are just as impressive to onlookers....

OK, now I'm confused. The title of the thread says " One flick starts, is this a myth?"
I took this to mean a first start and not a re-start. My reply was for a cold engine that was not warmed up.
