Default What prop for this Giglio Diesel?

Hello, I just receive this nice repro of an italian Giglio 2cc from 1947, the original Giglio was itself a close copy of the swiss Dyno engine.

The Giglio is a long stroke engine (bore=12MM, stroke=18MM) so I wonder what kind of prop would be adapted...

My exemplary (#87/100) comes in a nice wooden box but instructions are gone so if anybody has a scan of these instructions, they will be welcome. Thanks, Chris

Try a large prop to begin with, like 9x4. From there, listen to the engine.

I ran my CS Deezil Replica also a 2 cc engine on a 10/5 prop and the engine was happy. Jack

I'm with Jack on this one-a 9x4 is much too small for a long stroke low revving sideport layout like this[I'd use that size on a Mills 1.3!] -you want something in the 10x4-11x5 range-and preferably heavy-like a Master Airscrew, to give a bit of flywheel effect. These are the sizes I use on my Burford Deezil, ED Comp special and ED Mk2, and Letmo 2.5-all the same size and layout as the Giglio..............

Yes I agree, something in the 10x4 through 11x5 range, a 10x5 is likely the prop to use.

Look for the website of "Ambrosi e Gattafoni". There is detail of a Giglio reproduction there.
