OK QS, the vales in the .46 MKII are the same size approximately 8.30 mm It had no head shim in it, I found one close but a hair too small. It will have to continue to be without one. As you can see it's all set up to mount on an ACE 4-40, it will be a perfect match. It has a new BOCA cam drive bearing it, that's why its almost clean. All the rest of the bearings are original.
PS, I tried both it and a .53 TN i used to own on Davis ABC mix and neither would even make a puff of smoke.

Thanks for the pictures. The 46-4C was and is one of the strongest glow 4-strokes in that displacement class. I can't recall but I think both of my 4-strokes have no head shim. Raising the compression would involve shaving the liner down or milling the head.

After I posted the last post I remembered something, I did run the Enya .53 TN on Davis ABC mix, it would only start using a starter and would only run at full throttle. Any less than full throttle and it would slowly die and quit.

Is there more or less ether in the ABC mix versus the other "versions"? I would think adjusting the ether content higher would net better results. Maybe this is Bowman ring territory; the stock Enya rings have a huge gap which I'm sure causes a small loss of cylinder pressure.
