How to drain ether from starter fluid - Deere or otherwise
I've had several diesels over the 30 years, everything from Davis diesel conversions (OS 40 and a diesel head on a Kadet Senior, to PAWs, from the little .03 to .60s.
I worked off a gallon of Red Max diesel fuel for years - this stuff seemed to last forever - and now need some new diesel fuel.
I'm really tempted to mix my own but, frankly, I'm a little scared about poking a hole in a can of starter fluid and causing a spark that blows the can up in my face. I'm thinking a brass or bronze punch might work without sparking, but I'm still a little apprehensive about the process. And how do work fast enough to not have most of it evaporate?
When you guys use starter fluid, John Deere apparently being the brand of choice, how do you get the starter fluid out of the pressurized can safely?
Thanks for you help!
