Dave - Is that the ABC variant or Dykes ringed? My buddy has a Dykes ringed .25 I got for him. It's a mild engine - definitely not a powerhouse on glow fuel but a nice handling and easy starting engine though.

Tim, that one is an ABC, the head was made for me by AJ Coholic in Canada. The only ringed Irvine I ever owned was a red 1.50 a real sweetheart of an engine.

The little .25 I got for my friend was pretty new - maybe ran for a few minutes prior to us obtaining it. It looked very well made though I had reservations about the plastic backplate. It had an Irvine 2-needle carb. I'd surmise it would run well as a diesel if he could make a head for it. He's in the process of building a 2-cylinder .22ci (two .11ci cylinders) Diesel engine from scratch. Durabar cast iron Pistons and steel liners in an aluminum case.

I have an early Irvine .25 with Dykes ring. This one is very early with an aluminum carb rotor. Never have run it.
