RE: Os stock built diesel
Had one of these back then.
Screamer! Easy to run, too.
I fly CL: I doan neeeed no steenkin' trottel.
Wish they would reissue, possibly developed to ABN and Schneurle?? I believe it had a steel, finned sleeve - many engines still did, then.

There was an earlier OS Diesel, the 1cc from around 1950.

In 1966, my firetruck crew chief built a Sterling Fokker D-VII (control line) and powered it with a McCoy .19 R/C engine. He added the third line for throttle control. I was the designated test pilot. It turned out that I was the only one that ever flew the model successfully, for some odd reason. He'd bring it out, set it up, put me in the center of the circle and would hand me the handle. I used to loop the third line around my middle finger and controlled the throttle that way. I wish I could build as well as Fergie did. The model was gorgeous and I had my first experience at flying with throttle control.
You had to pray for a little breeze to get the little Fokker off the ground, but it was a blast to fly. No loops or wingovers. No inverted flying, just around and around with mild climbs and dives. It was fun to fly such a beautiful model. The McCoy .19 R/C was a bear to start, but well worth the fuss.

RE: Os stock built diesel
David intresting history lession having the new enyas CX11 and 25Ds they are of course modern schnuerle ported engines, I really cannot understand why OS does not have a diesel
as we say here even:" to keep up with the Jones"I am sure they would be sold even as an engine collectors item of course I would use and run mine if it happens as would most of us on the site. Maybe if they were sent a few E mails it might get them moving martin
