RE: burning battery plug g-2
My battery plug would smoke when I would plug it in to the heli. Now my esc burnt out, also smoke and all. Raidentech thinks my brushless moter is causing all this. So since my esc is now burnt I ordered a new esc, and a new brushless. Would there be another reason this is happening?

Smoke from ESC is often caused by short circuit on the bullet connectors from ESC to motor. Please make sure the metal ends are not touching each other. Look at the coils on the motor, are they black, does it have a burned smell?

Motor coils are ok, and the bullet connectors are ok. Could the JST plug from the battery cause the esc to fry? It it all started with the pos side shorting/smoking. All of the damage was on the male connector from the battery. The female connector positive post was darkened. Maybe I should go with the T plug. I am also thinking my motor is fine. Is there a way to test the motor without plugging it in to the esc? I would hate to burn out a new one.

Is this a brand new bird?
Has it ever worked?
Did you have a crash where the rotor blades could not turn while the power was on?
This can cause the ESC and or the brushless to burn up. [&o]

I had a crash before but it didn't really effect the blades in that way. The blades were turning with the heli on the its side, throttle on off position. I had this heli for about 1yr no problems untill now. I am hoping when I replace the esc and the motor the problem will disapear.

Thanks to all that helped me. Problem is solved. I changed the JST plug to a beefier Deans plug, and replaced the esc. I flew it yesterday and today so far no shorts. I think the JST plug was not efficent for the job. Thanks again people. Have a great holiday!!!
