RE: EXCEED RC MOTOR
The most common way to burn up a motor is to not throttle down/off
when the helicopter hits the ground.
Leaving the motor spinning when the blades can't turn burns it up.
If the rubber bands that hold the battery up are rubbing the main gear
that will cause excess stress on the motor..
If the motor is pushed up against the main gear too tight that will cause
excess stress on the motor... and when you replace the motor make sure
the screws that hold the motor on are not rubbing against the main gear stressing the motor.
There should be just a tiny bit of wiggle room between the motor gear and the main gear.

RE: EXCEED RC MOTOR
You should also buy some heat sinks for the tail and main motor they are real cheap...
and you should read this massive thread which your helicopter is a clone ...
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3722641/tm.htm
you will find a wealth of info.

RE: EXCEED RC MOTOR
I purchased 2 Eagle 50s from x-heli.com and both of the original motors failed within 2 days of each other. I purchased another motor from them and one from e-flight blade cp and took the stickers off and put a heat sink on them and they seem to be ok.one of my helis had a 9 tooth gear and the other one had a 10 tooth.will Exceed replace my burnt up ones? Maybe Andy can tell me.

RE: EXCEED RC MOTOR
Hi, the same thing happened to me with my eagle 50, did you ever get a replacement for your motors?? I purchased mine from xheli.com but they are very slow in replying to customer issues, in the meantime I'm grounded since only my rotor motor works; any idea if there is some sort of warranty on this things???

RE: EXCEED RC MOTOR
You guys are getting free replacements? Figures. I deleted my order number from my email. Do have my USPS tracking number from Xheli still. How are you getting them anyway? Whenever I have tried calling them no one answers. I had a problem with my HBFP when I got it from them. I called and called and called. I emailed them a few times. They finally emailed back saying someone would contact me but they never did. I just gave up.

RE: EXCEED RC MOTOR
Hi, I'm a true noogish pilot. Haven't even gotten my eagle 50 off the ground.. well.. does 2 cm count? xD. seriously, though, I made a big mistake. I tried to trim the blades inside my house. T_T I accidentally pushed the throttle up instead of down, and the copter flew right at me. scraped against the entertainment center, and there was real "matrix" moment: the blades were only a few inches from my face. the copter then proceeded to crash, and the engine sparked a fw times.
Have replacement motor already, but no one to teach me how to replace it! T_T can anyone help me? I've got the power disconnected on the copter already, but even if I do fix it, I can't find my charger (lost it about a year ago, which is when I got my copter). But I would still like to have my craft fixed so that when I DO get a replacement charger, i can charge 'er up and take off.
Ironically, I'm not just missing the part of the charger that plugs into the wall, I'm also missing the part which the battery plugs into. Does aynone know where to get a cheap but still effective replacement besides Exceed RC? no offense. lol
