Default Good replacement for Ammo 24-33-3180kv???

hello i am a nitro/gas flying guy who has got into electrics and i'm currently looking for a good but inexpensive motor to replace the Ammo 24-33-3180Kv motor in my electifly rifle pylon racer as it died on me. it has the stock set up, a 11.1v 1800mah lipo,Great Planes Silver Series 25A Brushless ESC, anyone know a good fit for this plane? also a motor that has more power is not a bad thing. Ive been looking on hobbypartz.com and value hobby.com help!!

thanks

Try the AMMO 28-35-3900. The 28mm motor will drop right in there. You'll want to switch to a 4.1 x 4.1 prop though. I have a Rifle with this motor and have about 75 flights on it. Your 1800mAh battery is perfect. I might consider going to a 30A ESC, but I am running the 25A in mine no problem. Since the motor is heavier you might need to shift the battery back about 1" to 1/2" from where you usually have it to get the C.G. where you want it.

I just lost my GP F-16. Combination of pilot error, too far too fast, but the worst, no elevator. I'd like to blame the wimpy wires and the overlong run inside the fuselage but still, I lost it. Can I use the F-16's 24-45-3790 motor in my new Rifle? 4.75-4.75, 1800 40c three cell, 30 or 40 amp ESC? Too much? Too heavy? Thanks for the help.

Sorry for a late reply.

Don't get to this forum often and just saw your question. Hope it's not too late to help.

The 24-45-3790 is great for the Rifle, with one exception. It'll put you at around 400+ Watts which is over the 300W limit. But I am flying two Rifles, stock (no wing modification) at around 400W - one of them with this motor. You'll need a 4.1 x 4.1 prop though. You should get around 34,000rpm at around 39A static (on the ground, not flying) and around 27A in the air. This is with 3S 25C 1800mAh battery. The motor is kind of heavy, so you'll need to move the battery back a bit to keep the C.G. about where you want it (I like the C.G. at about 5/8" back from the LE which is slightly forward from the recommended).

Also, sometimes the stock, GP spinner won't spin up true much over 30,000 - 34,000rpm. My Rifle I'm flying with this motor is using the stock spinner, but if you're won't work get an MP Jet spinner. Make sure you get the one for 3.0mm shaft as this is what the 24mm Ammo motors have.

You can reinforce the wing with a carbon spar (PM or email me and I have images how to do it) or take your chances flying the wing stock.
