There are lots of planes that will do over 100 mph... in fact, most sport planes will hit 100 if you put a big enough engine and the right prop on them...

For jet training you need something faster... Like Midnitedew said, the Predator (or any other Quickee for that matter) would make a good start, but it is not fast enough for jet training on a stock .46 sport engine IMO... maybe if you called mister Jett for a nice hot Jett .50...?

If you don't like the Predator, read through this forum a little... there are plenty of speed planes, and even more planes that can easily be made into speed planes with some mods (read big ***** engines...)

DDust... Whip... Magnum... Shrike... hell, even Patriots, F-20's, Mustangs count with enough power up front... take your pick...

Who told you "one of the fastest planes" and "100mph"?
I don't call 100mph fast... if I have to put a number on it, "fast" starts at 130-140mph or something like that (depending somewhat on the size of the plane of course)...

And how much flying experience do you actually have? If you don't mind me asking...

Well then that Predator with a .46FX or even a .32 might not be such a bad idea to start with... You gotta learn how to walk before you can start thinking about running...

From Lanier? I dunno... never flown one...

It is an aerobatic design, so I suppose it flies very well...

Why don't you ask around in your club a little... maybe even fly a plane or two from your fellow clubmembers... that should give you a pretty good idea about your capabilities and what you need to proceed...

Well then... if you only have experience with gliders you might want to think about starting with an ordinary aileron trainer... plenty of those around, and not too expensive. It might be worth the investment in the long run...
I suppose if you want to get into jets, a few hundred dollars isn't going to make that much of a difference...

Default Hey Shades

Shades, I really hate to say this but from what you told me earlier. I think you need a good instructor and a real good aileron trainer. After you learn how to control the plane at slow speeds then you can go plenty fast later on. If you have nothing but glider expierence then you might even need a basic trainer. You really need to learn the basic rules and manuevers to fly before you jump to jets. And I would consider anything capable of doing 150 mph a fast plame. The Ducted fan I told you that I am building will do 175 level thats movin. Ya cant just go from gliders to that. You have my email and use it if you have questions.

i was going to say Magnum, but then i had a thought.
for proper jet training you want a fast plane with retracts that you can use the throttle on, THEN you can use a servo slow to recreate the spool up of a turbine so you learn to predict the thrust required....
something like a patriot might fit the bill.

ohi found it thank you so much i think i got a new plane! but the problem is that this plane is a kit and i have a very hard time building glider kits so i think this one will be even harder so what engine should i get it and all of that good stuff like what are all of the things needed to make it fly i really want one

you need to learn to build to a high standard, most jets, even the artf ones still need some finishing to very high standards, you are gonna be doing 200+ after all..
had another thought why the small Magnum isn't a good jet trainer.. most jets are large so don't get away from you like the Magnum can.

i can't give an engine size as it's a US kit not UK and i know very little about it, largest in the range is normaly a good bet.
don't forget after you've test flown and got used to it, to add the servo slow to throttle.
