Check this out:F3D training

Connect your pc to your stereo and turn up that volume... it won't be even close to the real thing... look at the people shielding their ears in the vid...

Courtesy of Paul Ravensbergen, AKA Paulus here on RCU, from Holland...

Over 14 Mb, so you need a fast connection or a lot of time...

These planes are capabale of 200+ MPH in LEVEL flight without diving and they are not even tuned for topspeed.

Now imagine a plane flying a pyloncourse at this speed with 2 other planes doing the same thing at the same time...

I hope to make more videos of this stuff soon.

Paul,

I ran your video sound track thru the spectrogram speed sound analyzer program just to see how fast this plane was going:

His first few laps were 190 to 200 mph and then the remaining laps were between 206 and 209 mph down and back around pylon 1! The engine rpm was around 31,000!

YeeeHawww!!

These planes are basically hotliners. Yes, a hotliner will go fast with a 46 if it will stand up to the vibrations but not close to these planes. These .40 F3D engines produce about 4 HP!!

Paul

Phillybaby, I'll see what I can do about the size of the video. Image quality won't be very good though.

I compressed the video to 3,34 MB with a divx 5.0.3 encoder. Quality is still pretty good. Here's the link: http://213.84.42.244:8087/paulraaf/f...ning_small.avi

Have fun!

Lets find out what a webra 36 can do to my Simprop selection.....
I know it wont even come close to the video, but Im optimistic
My 46 was too heavy, setting the CG too far off. So Ill just have to see what the new webra 36 ABN can do.

I never did buy that high performance brushless motor for it......... but at least its brushless now :-)

thats where i built my Capiche
unless the engines as streamline as the plane, and whats with the trashcan on the side? it ain't gonna be any quicker than the average speed plane on a 36.
got my interest peaked tho...

hehe....I have had lots of models in my bed :-)
Im an all RC guy......I sacrifice my bed to build :-)

I think it will go nicely even though I dont have a pipe on it. The whole plane weighs almost nothing, and its verry streamlined.....

Ive got nothing to lose :-)
I like experimenting. I havn`t seen any of the other guys do this in my club, so I dont realy know what to expect.

SJ, you are nuts man, but I like what you did with it...

Don't forget to beef up your control linkages, servo's and perhaps elevator...

Default Enfgine sound

About the engine sound : is it merely the doppler effect which makes the engine noise suddenly go up and down [sm=surprised.gif] ????

yes, as the plane goes past you the sound changes back, however the sudden change could be during the turn when:
it turns to you ( dopler )
it turns down wind ( increased speed and rpm )
or dives after the turn ( as above )
