Default I Love my Phoenix Strega! - Factor X racing

This new Phoenix Strega seems to be an awesome upgrade from the old one (which I really liked also). I got a mod improved Os.75ax sitting so pretty inside the cowl. Only negative was the inverted engine which I opted not to go with on my model. Side mount is the best way to go in my eyes. however ...to each his own.

I'm guessing MUCH faster than a VW Bug falling off a cliff.
It's a great looking model that you should have fun figuring out which prop works best for you.

right around 120 MPH. You should try a YS 115 engine on it. I would pull it over 150 MPH. This plane still has a thick wing on it so the YS spinning a bigger prop would make a little more thrust about 130 mph.
Check out my blurry video on my Vendetta race plane with a YS 115 War Bird Special engine.

No reason not to mount the new motors upside down.

Freakin Awesome Airaptor!!! although, they always look faster when they r in the sky by themselves! Here on the east coast of FL we line up in the air and let them scream.. ...ALSO ..There is all the reason in the world to not mount an engine inverted. (terrible starts, unsafe starts when reaching for glow plug driver while motor turning 15000+ rpm, erratic needle setting, always rich needle settings...most of all risk of hydro lock with too much fuel in cylinder which is not good for the engine Rod and Pin......If I have to mention them, then your not really qualified to know ,,LOL. NOT an insult I hope. really not meant to be one.

Thanks Tr!pull i will get some better video one day. We do have a race this weekend so I will try then. Myself havent had any issues with engines mounted inverted and in fact most all of my engines are that way.

Yesterday during practice Jeff AKA Airraptor and his Vendetta on a down wind pass hit 210 MPH on the clubs radar gun. This was done with a custom made CF 12x16 prop.

crown no video of radar numbers but many saw and heard it. believe me or not I dont make stuff up knowingly and if I make a mistake I will own up to it. The quy on the radar was using a 950 dollar radar gun too.

Nice tiger strips on MK2

Here is a video of the Gold A main that weekend. Jeff's Vandetta was going considerably faster on his speed passes.

A lot of fast planes being discussed here. Not an easy feat zipping along at 150 plus.

Whats up 130+ mph crew....lol. Some of us are addicted to speed ...and are always in the laboratory trying to gain an extra push or pull. My boy has his Strega slamming 147mph on multiple level passes. He hit 151 on a dive or what we call a fast pass two weeks ago with I believe a 10x9 on it...and my other friend has his strega at about 140 and gaining. Ill do what I can to get them to show their set ups and get video in the next couple weeks of all our three mk2's in the air going balls to the walls in a head-to-head speed race.

sorry to hear about your first Strega. I just finished mine up and did the test flights today all went well. I installed a nova Rossi .91 with tuned muffler on a abc 13x8 for break in I will play around with props as the motor breaks in. What motor and props are y'all using on your Stregas to get 140?
