Default Picco .40 FAI pylon on the bench

I guess I should put this as a separate thread in case anyone is curious or can answer questions. Here's a bench run from the weekend. The engine is really no big deal to handle on the bench (especially with the fuel and vent lines hooked up correctly!). Matching compression, flight prop etc. is of course another exercise down the road, but one step at a time.

Note it still needs plug heat until the very top end, I'm thinking it is a bit under-compressed. If it's underpropped, would it tend to act cold on the plug? Using a Merlin 2003HD hot plug.

Cool, it sure went through that tank of fuel in a hurry. Is that an aluminum pipe I see?? I thought I taught you better than that!

Well it's the pipe it came with - suitable for the bench only of course..

That's a 6oz tank, at full bore probably flowing around what, 3oz./minute or a bit more, based on a .65 eating roughly 4oz/m. It sure guzzles and slobbers fuel when rich.

Hopefully when I frag the conrod it'll be on video too. Then you won't miss it so much.

i'll probably put it on a delta to get acquainted with it. I have the Nelson nicely fitted into the model that had the Magnum .46. Just about to put the .46 on the stand with the stock muffler then a Jett red btw.
