Which gear to use for the Tsunami from RCATSYSTEMS?
Does anyone know what gear are best for the RCATSYSTEM Tsunami? I am thinking of getting this short kit and want to price everything before I start. How about an engine choice? I want pretty high speeds and am thinking of a Sport Jett 90L or a Jett Fire .95. Any thoughts? Thanks

What kind of plane is a Tsunami? Is it possible to shoe-horn an OS-91VRDF in there? (just based on speed-)

I don't know about fitting a 90 VRDF having a rear induction carb and all. I'm sure one could make the right mods to make it work but I am not sure. Anyone have anything on my original question? To add to it, what kind of speeds may be possible using the Jett Fire .95?? Thanks

I have one in the box out in the workshop. Not sure when I'll get to it, but had to have one.
I was thinking an O.S. 1.08 FSR.
Not sure of the gear yet, but it will have retracts.

How does the glasswork look? Many pinholes or airbubbles? I realize this is a short kit, but how intense will the building be in you opinion? I am not worried about my ability to produce a quality airplane, I would just like to get an idea of project duration. Thanks

Hi,
Because the wing is thin and of laminar flow, it requires some smaller retracts. I found that Spring Aire #303 worked really well for fitting into the wing.
An OS 91 is probably possible. I flew the prototypes with Webra 1.20 two strokes and 1.20 four strokes. Granted, on the 1.20 model, the fuselage utilized an entirely different layup since the motor was larger than normal.
The kit is has a fuselage that includes a molded scoop and vertical fin/rudder. This eliminates some build time. The extra time in making the model and laying it up this way saves time for the builder.
