Default Patriot pictures and discussion

I am going to get a GP Patriot for myself around Christmas and was looking into
all the fun "WOW" features every one is including in their plane (flaps spoilers
whatever....even rockets...) I'd love to see your Patriots for some ideas, as I'm
sure many others would love to see your great birds.

Please include the setup you have if possible, or if you dont have pics,
just talk about your plane....thanks.

Well, to get things going, here are some of my build pics. Hope to be covering in the next couple of weeks! Note that the ailerons have hinge sheeting as well as the 1/3 span flaps, 4-40 pushrods on the ailerons and flaps. This one will have a SportJett 90 on the nose, as well as Rocket pod in the tailcone - intended velocity is >170MPH. The black around the retracts is the fuelproofing for the exposed inners around the retracts. The retracts are Robart 607 pneumatics with 1.5" wheels. All electrical contacts for the three servos in the wings are connected by the DB-9 connector on the wing. More to follow as it comes together.

Aha! A Jett-90! That will be a M I S S I L E- [X(] Balsa- You will fall in love with the Patriot... I have had 2 1/2 and I love them!

Here is the one pic of the flaps (not very good quality-) and I will snap more over the weekend...

I say whomever posts their Patriot should also give there whole set-up...

Mine is built from the kit (not by me- )

Jett-50
9x9 APC
Spring-Air Retracts
Inboard Split-flaps
ALL STANDARD SERVOS ( Fut 148's, 3003's and an Air-94102 [X(]) on 6V about 60 oz. torque

30+ flights, no problems so far!

My favorite plane of all time

good idea, after seeing that first pic else whre i though your plane had a purpleish collor to it, i quess its the light playing tricks. thanx for the input.

oh one more thing, will a jett .70 fit into a standard .70 mount?? and what was GP thinking when they discontinued the patriot?!?! that plane is gorgiousthat planes getting hung in my rome when im done, no crumby garage for that one! these are definatly plans to keep as opposed to my usual meathod or plan saving (trash)

42 views so far, i see this thread getting long...

how bout a jett FIRE .76? i like the mufler in line instead of off to the side.
im one of those people that has that overwhelming urge to push the envelope. and then when im done pushing, tear it to pieces.

You might try the Jett Engineering web-site, I thought I read that the Jett-76 and 90 were similar in size...

On the "Hall of Fame" portion of the Jett website there is a guy with the old Patriot ARF and Jett-90 he says he was radared at 190MPH-

Took some weight in the tail but..

I have pics of a TON of Patriots but I dunno if the owners would mind me posting them-

If I post a pic of your Patriot and you want me to remove it for some reason I will-

Folks love Patriot pictures!

how hard is the Patriot build? I was thinking of buying one but I have been an ARF guy since the beginning. Time and tools and space are my enemy. if its a 1 week build and not hard I might get it

from experiance with similar shaped models its not that hard, but then again ive built 20 and im very mechanicly inclined so... its really what you can do. although if you stick the the plans it shouldent be hard.

Easiest kit I have built, I have built 5 kits and many arfs.

A week might be tight but you would be suprised at how fast it goes together.

I don't have any pics of mine but it is just about ready for covering.

ps. if you dont make any mods to the patriot it is a very quick build.

good luck and have fun
