WOW, Speed is not cheap. I see the VXDF is $280 at Tower. What does JHH get for the Prop adapter and pipe?

What is the recommended torque rating for the whips ailevon servos?

Thanks! Sounds like a blast.

you can fly the whiplash on as little as 40 ounce servos but thats only if you're flying with a low power engine ie the OS40LA or similar.. recommended would be 80 ounce or more.
The prop adapter is about $8.00 I think dont quote me

Crazy4Flight,
Chuck was just teasing about the being abused comment.
I dont doubt the power but when you add weight you need to make more lift creating more drag requiring more power....

BTW have you built the Phoenix 8 I sold you about a year ago??

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but the speed limiter is only proposed for turbine aircraft.

And the limiter is to be set to limit speed to 200 MPH.

This plane will not qualify for either of those situations.

Live again! I wanna hear more Whip stories.....

Anybody doing anything crazy with one of these? I finally resorted to a 46FX and Tower muffler (Quieter) and this thing hauls, can't imagine a Jett-50 or DF engine in here...

I am sick and tired of DD threads- where did all the Whip owners go?

I intend to resurrect mine this fall, not sure what you could put on one that would top a modified Rossi 81 and hold together. I really think that to go any faster, you will need a sleeker airframe, and that is the direction I'm taking. But the Rossi 81 Whip was a head turner, for sure.

I would just use a spinner nut, you'd have more thread that way.... 9x6 is VERY small for that engine isn't it?

I would think 9x8APC?

The VXDF will never reach its powerband on those large props... You will need something like a cut down APC Q500 prop...
