Default Help on Force one 46FX

Ok I have a Force one delta with a 46 FX pusher. Today it flew for the first time. (engine is broken in) Its using a 10x7 wood prop. The thing didnt move at all! Radar at a pewny 60mph. It seemed it didnt want to fly. Anyhow the tach showed 12450. Whats up? This was bought used never flown. I was thinking of trying a 9x8. Any ideas. Oh yes stock muffler. I would think this plane with that motor and airfoil should do 100mph.

Don't know the plane but a Tower muffler ($14-) will give you at least 500 RPM's- 12450 with a 10x7 is not good at all- should be at least 14K... A 9x8 will give more speed but will lengthen rotation and vertical-

Keep us posted,

I don't know what type of plane or weight it is, but a 10x7 on an OS .46 is TOO MUCH PROP! You need to stay with a 9x7, 9.5x7 or 10x6 to keep the engine on it power-band. These props will give you what you need depending on weight. If it's 4 lb. or under, stay with the 9x7. If it's around 4-5 1/2 lb. 9.5x7 will do, but if it's over 5 1/2 lb. and you want more thrust, go with the 10x6. However, a 10x6 will not give the overall top speed that you maybe looking for, but it plenty of thrust with decent speed.

Hope this help.

Ok thanks guys, I have it on a good scale right now its weight no fuel is 4 1/4 pounds, so i will pick up a 9.5x7 and a 9x7 and see what happens if thats better I will add a pipe down the line.
