Default Did anyone ever build a Lyka-Jet?

Did anyone ever build a Lyka-Jet from RCModeler Plans? I built one a couple of years ago and put it on the shelf. I pulled it down a couple of months ago and flew it for the first time. Pretty quick. I went with an O.S. 46DF so the exhaust would be from the rear. I'll post some pictures if anyone wants to see them. I'd like to hear about some of yours and see some pics too. Thanks.

Lyka jet was in MAN, Nov. 1997 not RCM.

A fellow around here built two, one YS 45 RE and one Jett 50 powered. FAST..... They flew nice.

I just finished scratching a .25 size Miss Los Angeles for a reasonably fast but small plane. First flight was Saturday. Now I am ready to start something else. I bought those plans last summer and have recently finished making a Hot Wire cutter so I could make the wings. I am very keen to see what yours looks like. Did you put any landing gear on or are you a plane chucker?

Pics are coming. I used piano wire to make landing skids so the plane would be more sleek. I'm thinking of building a fiberglass cowl to further streamline things. I was using an OS46 SF originally with an APC 9x9 prop and a macs pipe. That was pretty good, but things got even better when I replaced the SF with an OS 46DF. After tuning the header and pipe I had picked up 1000 rpm's. I think the plane picked up 20-30 mph. I was wondering if anyone experimented with the CG? This is the first airplane of this type that I've had and I can't tell if it is nose-heavy or the wing just doesn't generate as much lift in the turns as the planes I'm used to flying. I balance mine per the plans.

Sorry Guys. Everyone in my house had the Norwalk? Virus this weekend and we all took turns driving the porcelain bus. I couldn't even think about airplanes. Here are the pics-don't be too harsh.

I am building one of these myself, after having the plans for 9 years, but I was lucky that a friend of mine had a 2 1/2 inch square downspout because I cannot find it anywhere here. Does anyone know where I can get some more?

check spadtothebone.com and it's links, the spadders seem to be able to locate gutter pipe still. (if I remember 2.375" square is from menards and is thinner, 2.5" square is ordered from the sullivan "do-it" centers or other local hardware stores)
