Very nicely done. I like the red fading into yellow. The hidden controls coming out of the back of the body is clean and neat.

What airfoil did you use? What are the specs?

Glad to here you like it, I have now added decals to it to dress it up a bit. To be honest I'm not sure what airfoil it is, I used the airfoil I got off one of my plans then thinned it and lengthened it for my use. I know it's not the best way of doing it or may not be the best airfoil to use but it sure flies great I think the span is 36" if I remember correctly and AOW is 2.75lb. It is foam core sheeted with balsa then fiberglassed,it has a gap-less hinge line made from a FEDEX envelope. O.S. .32sxh, MAC pipe, APC 8x7 prop [17,500rpm]. My next one will be nicer with a blended center section like an f-16 and will vacuum form it out of ABS plastic, I would like to see how it holds up and if it works I will sell it as a kit.

How do you make the gapless hinge with the envelope?

A little hard to explain but I will try...first cut your hinge from the envelope about 2" width and as long as your elevon, mark the center line down the hinge.Next I glued the hinge on the top surface of the foam cores aligning it with the center line so you have 1" overhang off the back. Next I sheeted the wings with 1/16 sheet top and bottom. Next cut your elevon shape out of 1/4 balsa or the thickness you need and glue that to the bottom of the hinge, you will also have to put a sheet of 1/16 on the top of the elevon so it is even with the wing sheeting. And don't forget to bevel the top and bottom elevon sheet for movement. One other point- Use a paper hole punch to put holes in the hinge along each side, this will allow the glue to hold the hinge better. Hope this helps , I will see if I can draw a picture .

OK, that sounds easy enough. I didn't know if you built it in or added it in later. I think I'll use your method on my next plane.
Thanks
