Help with a Ducted Fan Engine
HI,
Just need a little help guys,
I’ve bought a ducted fan plane, I think it’s called a jester from Ripmax. It’s powered by a OS 46VF ducted fan, has straight wings and a wing span of about 45-50 inch, I’m using 10% Nitro fuel. The fan is about 8 inches
My problem is that it barley has enough power to lift off the ground, Take off took ages to build up speed, when it got up in the air it didn’t want to get any faster. I was told that this would be quite a fast model with this engine. Does this sound correct?
Any advice would be welcome, should I try higher Nitro fuel? What RPM Figures should that engine produce, I think it’s about 15,000 at the moment.
Thanks in advance

RE: Help with a Ducted Fan Engine
You might have better luck in the Jets forum. Just guessing, I'd say that fan sounds awfully large for a 46 sized engine, you need to be turning 24K or so.
