My new speed deamon
I had DD, Whip, shrike ect plane since a couples of years. Since 2 years i switched to Jet. My first one was a Yellow Aircraft Stingray, wich is not a good choice for a first turbine, it's too fast! I'm finishing a Facet 1200, a better airplane for our 15X350' paved runway and it fly only at 150mph. For reflex tuning i ordered a nee DD and putted a YS 46 with a pipe. I tried it last week and was disapointed with the speed. it swing a 9x9 at 16500 or 17k if my memory is right.
I did some research on the net for a fast plane to put my Jett Q500 in it and i dont want any DD type plane. Here is what i found for 75$. I think it will be faster than DD type 'cause it's sleek and everything is in the plane. It weight 4lbs.

Yup Matney models plane called 'Zoomer' it's a mixed plane made betwenn F1 and Q500 for they call 'animal 500 pylon racer'. about the same price as a DD and i'm almost sure it will be faster since it's more sleek and less drag involved...Glass fuse, foam wing, semie kit, i think it's about the same building time as a DD too....I'will do some review og it when it. It will be shipped to me this week...

RE: My new speed deamon
BTW i was reading rpm on my YS 46. It swing an APC 9X9(standard not pylon) at 16000 with 5% fuel on a MAC pipe and header( didnt cut it by the way). Is it good?? I always think that YS was the best of 'sport' engine but it seem a little bit low....Is'nt it??

Well it is a YS-45 not 46, and you need to run 20% nitro 20% synthetic oil for best results...
Cut the header 1/4 inch until RPM's don't go up anymore-
The best sport engine (IMHO) is Jett, but the YS is 2nd in my book-

Im surprised more guys havent found the Animal before this. The Zoomer design has been around for quite a while.
I still have one in my hangar. 12% tapered wing we used for club racing a while back.
Comes in a bit heavier than a standard Q-500, but it is very quick
If you want to be creative, the design becons for retracts. It would take some looking around to get very low profile gear (FAI pylon racing type).
Matney makes awesome glasswork. Very nice foam too. Its only a basic kit, but theres not much more you need to finish it.

I know how to tune a pipe but i'm just lazy I consider Jett engine more like 'tuned engine' than commercial one like YS. That's why i said ' best sport engine'

Sport Jett engines are just that.....sport engines. They just run harder right out of the box, last a long time, and are extreamly user friendly. They are even test run, partly broken in, and the idle is set on the bench before you receive it. There is no tuning or tweeking involved. Just put on a prop, set the high end RPM down about 600 rpm from peak, and off you go.
If you want one built special, Dub can do that too..... but the stock engines are no different than an OS or Webra when it comse to a sport engine.
