Default Just Brought One of These !!!! Weston UK !!

Hi Guys,

Just picked up one of these Tiger Sharks at a show this weekend.......... was just wondering it says it takes 40 - 50 2 Stroke engines but recommends a West Eurotech .50 V1 and Genesis pipe, will it still fly ok with a Bulk Standard OS46 LA with standard silencer ??? i dont really need extreme speed (not just yet) but i saw this flying at the show and look like a lot of fun

Tigershark
Due to popular demand we are now introducing the Tigershark delta in arf format. Capable of speeds in excess of 150mph, this amazing delta's low speed handling characteristics are unsurpassed. All that is required is to simply attach the fin and the landing skid.
940mm span, recommended engine West Eurotech .50V1 and pipe.
Thx for any info

I WANT ONE!! Where do I buy one?

IMHO, it would be a "sin" to stick an OS LA motor on one of these. Save the LA's for trainers. Go with any sport 45/46/47 ABC and let'er rip!

What is it covered in? Landing gear/or option? Info man, need some info....

Do you know who sell it in USA??? How much cost the plane alone.

I bought my Magnum R from Modellbau-USA but on his web page they dont show this airplane.

Who else sell Weston ARF in USA?

BTW Weston says is only 150 MPH capable.[:-][:'(]

A buddy of mine had a Tiger Shark back in 1998. Powered by a piped Rossi .45 is was hard to get 135 mph. The flat wing design (balsa 6 mm thick) really su.ks - limiting the top speed. That plane looks faster than it is...

P.S. In the past there was also a smaller version having about 30" wingspan

I have a fear of planes without U/C's................"the launch"

I'm contemplating this plane with either an MDS 58 or the full deal with V1 piped...... My ideal launch would be lob and let it pull vertical. (??) need my nerves settling here so, please pile on the kind words of advice/encouragement..... :-)

What would you reckon the top speed of this ARF T-S would be with the 58, and then for the V1???

which would accomodate my preferred launch method???[sm=drowning.gif]

Cheers. £255 is quite a bit of an investment for me at the moment, so i want to get it right. ;-)

DragonHeart, great plane. I was looking at one on Fri in my LHS. I noticed the fins on the wings were glued covering to covering, may be an idea to cut the covering away and reglue them.
AirGar, it would be a crime not a sin to plonk an LA on this plane , covering is good quality the 1 at the LHS had no blemishes or wrinkles. There is not an optional landing gear but I am sure someone will mod it and post info on how they done it. Personally I wouldnt bother, too much extra drag.

Is that a silver/gray underside, i would worry about that against our typical uk sky's, but otherwise looks very nice, would not mind one

I think the top colors are fine.....it's the bottom color I would have a problem with. [X(]

Wish my LHS had one!

Default Magnum vs Tigershark

Magnum vs Tigershark???

I will be using the V1 combo for either. I want a plane that will be (tamed) fast, but have good low speed too. I like the looks of the magnum, but am scared of the burnin' speeds. A bloke at the club had the old version with V1 and that seem uncontrolably fast and I would not find that speed enjoyable. If the Magnum R has a good minimum speed, i'll go for that.

I know you'll say "its designed for speed" but I want both low and high (tamed) speed!!

Will a Magnum fly relitively slowly and well???????

Cheers

the same place as he Magnum in time, we've only just got it here.
it's ok speed wise, it's a kick back to a well loved kit. they fly well and ain't bad for an easy to handle speed ship.
any Delta is hard to see, but this one has a fuz, and what the heck are you flying that high for anyway if you can't see the bottom???! you only ever see the top, low pass, climb, turn come back down..... or low circuits.

when you do see silver tho as you climb away it almost looks like flutter as the ground is reflected in the sliver of silver you can see.

the Magnum is easy to fly at full speed if you have the recommended throws, it's totally rock solid, it's only your mate that can't handle it. i want one day to put a 36 in one and have a Sportum, a kinda fast nice flying stable jet. The tiger shark will fly better slower, but any light engine in the Magnum will be ok, even a LA you'll just want a bit more elevator probably.

Modelbau does not have this listed....yet. Hopefully, it won't be much more than the $79 (OVERPRICED) kit they have at my LHS.
