Default New Plane Soon...Hopefully

So my friend and I have been building this jet for 7lbs thrust turbines.
We pulled a few out of the molds for flight tests.
It's awsome, it comes out fully molded with the wings already molded on.
The few we pulled out are all carbon fiber.

So we took one with just servos and bungy launched it to test the CG.
Then we decided to cut off the nose, add a firewall and put an engine up front to fly it.
We stuck on an OS .46 ducted fan engine.
It took off in about 20ft and started through Mach I when it rolled over on it's back and went in.
The CG was way off.
But we saw the potential for a very fast speed prop plane.

We will be doing some more flight tests next week to tweak the CG.
When it's all worked out, we have decided to sell a prop and a turbine version.
The prop version can have the engine mounted fore or aft.

We have tried it with a ducted fan, only a Kress fan fits, but the performance sucks, so we are not focusing on the fan version.

I think the prop version will be more fiberglass than carbon and vice versa for the turbine version.

You think you guys would be interested in something like this?
A speed prop plane with very minimal building.
Basically when you get it you will just add radio, retracts, glue on the fins and paint.
Oh and the fins are also molded along with 2 hatches.
Not sure what the price point will be yet.
Oh and the plane is the Vought F7-U Cutlass measuring about 43 inches in span.
Plane with wings molded on and both fins comes out right about 2lbs.
So doing it right, the finshed plane should come out at about 5-7lbs.

Let me know what you guys think.

How about a couple of pictures...?

The Cutlass would be better suited for a pusher installation, wouldn't it?

If you can keep the price reasonable... why not... should be possible if you use glass... and if you don't make it an all out scale plane...

How about some CNC cut wood parts for the engine installation.

I'll post pictures after the final configuration is done.

All the wood is installed in the molds

Hey Ronnie...wassup Bro?

Did'ja ever fly the Starfire DF?

Your project sounds interesting, pics would be great! I'm always ready for a "new" speed plane...if the price is right!

Hey Gary what's up.

The Starfire has been built for awhile now, just not painted yet.

It will be converted for turbine instead of fan.
