I also run a GRRT on the DD but the FAI version. I am sure they run the same. The first time I ran this engine I bolted on a prop and was disappointed by the speed and how it never ran up on pipe or unloaded in air.

I found that on those engines you are going to have to cut shave down the tips off to make a smaller diameter prop. I would keep doing this until your engine runs up on pipe when WOT on ground. You will know when you have it right because the rpm's will explode from a low 17,000 to 23,000-25,000 depending on your prop. It is a pain to get prop right and takes time, shaving down balancing then trying out. Then repeating until pipe kicks in. But it is what it takes to find the right diameter for that engine.

Give it a shot and let us know how it went. You should be very happy with the results and in air it will be a day and night difference compared to what you have now.

I havent tried that prop before. I will try that out also. I havent yet been able to just bolt on a prop and it run up on pipe like it should.

My dust is powered by OS-46 ducted fan engine and swinging APC 9x6 prop.

I stated flying dust many years ago when Jeff use to leave in Michigan. My current dust is getting old and I would like to get a replacement for it. I would appreciate anyone that could give me Jeff’s new number so I could order one.

Regards

Ben
