PROP FOR OS VR ENGINE ON A DIAMOND DUST
I have just purchased an OS VR engine and am puting it on a diamond dust. The os VR is a discontinued pylon racing engine. The rpm range of this engine is 19000 to 25000 rpm. It looks to me to be very similar to a ducted fan engine. It has rear exuast, and a rear mounted carb. I am useing a MVVS GRRT tuned pipe on it.
I broke it in with a 9*4 prop and could peak it at 21000 rpm
What would be the best prop range for use in a diamond dust.

Hi SNOWBOAT, I think so, the 7.2-8.6 is a .40 pylon prop. My os .32 on a 90% DD is spectacular with it, better than the 8-8 APC, but the launches aren't as effortless. The launches are still good, but at a shallower angle. If your .40 is more powerful than the .32SX, you will get impressive results if the prop hooks up with your planes' weight and drag. My 90% scale, scratch built DD weighs 2.5 lbs dry.

MY engine is a .40 size. Would the props you selected work?

www.pspec.com Go there, get the ph #, ask for Dave, he'll fix ya up. Tell him what you have, he might have some different recommendations. He is a past champion pylon racer.
And FWIW, I don't think I've ever seen this prop on APC's "Prop List".

The 7.4*8.25 Carbon prop seems to be dicontinued on the APC website. Where can I find one?
