RE: Whiplash speed with BSE Jett FIRE 50
I had a jett .50 on my whiplash (Not a BSE) but speeds would not be too different. I had a 9 1/2" x 7 1/2 NN prop on it untill it crashed. I didn't get a radar on it, but I fly fast planes a lot and would have estimated the speed at roughly 160-170 mph.

Folks with the proper setup have obtained level flight airspeeds in excess of 150 mph.

edit - When you order a FIRE set up from Jett, Dub will always include a note stating the tuned RPM range, and the suggested props. It is wise to use the props suggested on the list. Your prop selection is driven by that pipe length. In general, the APC 8.8x8.5 D1 series pylon prop is always a good baseline to start from. - end edit

That is not correct- I am using an OS-46FX w/Tower muffler and I claim 150MPH, you need to find you own number to use---
You must be about 250

I have an unofficial speed of 183 mph using reference points and a stopwatch We have officially done 148 mph using an out of the box OS 46FX with stock muffler.. Now you all know that a Jett 50 is a bit more engine... on a good day and on a power dive, you can conceivably break 200 mph I believe with a Jett 50 running like a scalded ape... btmho

Rick- What prop did you run on the OS-46FX do you recall? I could never get the K&B 7.5CC dialed and threw the FX on there for kicks and it is still pretty fast-
