Default K&B 6.5 RE RI on my Diamond Dust

I'm running a K&B 6.5 RE RI on my Diamond Dust and I am not getting any sort of consistancy out of the runs. I'm wondering if someone can recomend some prop/fuel/plug combos that I may try. I've tried a number of different plugs and they don't seem to last too long. I was running on 40% nitro and suspect that may have been too hot. The engine seems to like a 9x6 master airscrew cut down to 8" dia. the best. I look forward to hearing other's thoughts. Thanks!

Try a Mcoy MC59.They are what i use in high nitro applications. The element is larger and they are a cooler plug.Chris.

If you are blowing a plug every run, or every other run, it is time to lower the compression. If you allow this to go on, it is only a matter of time before you wedge a glow plug element between the piston and liner.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. You learn something new everyday...and I learnt that a cold plug is used for high nitro applications, and vice versa. I had always thought I needed a hot plug. Can I run this engine on 15-20% fuel with say an OS #8 ? The only reason i was running 40% is because I had some of it for my .049 engines. Thanks! This is definitly a fun diversion from the scale stuff now and again. [8D]

Master Airscrew props aren't the most efficient props...especially for airplanes looking for maximum speed. Try to get ahold of some APC props; I bet you'll notice a difference!
