Default school zone radar - range ?

Hey folks...

maybe someone knows about this.

As I passed through my neighborhood school zone this morning, I noted that the police dept had been kind enough to set out one of those informative "YOUR SPEED IS" radar speed signs/trailer. Of course I was only doing 19 mph in the 20 mph school zone. However, it crossed my mind......... wouldn't this be really kewl if it were sitting on the end of my runway?

Now, the sign is apparently accurate enough. Probably the same technology as the hand-held radar devices. So my mind wanders....... this might be something handy to have for special events and pylon practice. Sure beats flying a plane at/near a person holding a radar gun....

But it only displays 2 digits on the MPH display.

Does anyone know if one of these has a roll-over capability to display speeds in excess of 99 mph ?

Bob

Are you sure it only displays 2 digits? I mean, did you test it?

Have not tested it yet........however the third charcter in the display would likely be the one finger being held up by the police officer, directing me into the nearby parking lot... for an extended conversation.
