new used Magnum
today I flew the Magnum... what a hoot!
the previous owner thought it a bit much with a OS .46LA and pipe.
Itis the 1st generation Magnum with the wing/saddle GAP
but the price was right and I had this Dubb Jett sport .50 crying out for an airframe.
I had to add two ouncess of tail weight. Hitek HS-525mg servos on the elevator and ailerons. The trim in flight was a blast, but not ballistic, the fresh engine was run a tad rich till break in is done. Prop was 9x8APC wich will be changed soon.

RE: new used Magnum
On the SJ-50
Cut back on the prop.... and use the 9x7 for a half dozen flights or so (maybe more like 10 flights) if it is still relatively new. Launch it about 600-800 rpm down from peak. Let it scream....don't worry... ya won't break it.
Then go back to that 9x8 Let me know what it tachs at that point.
