Default Diamond Dust nearing completion

Been trying to get my dust done before the bad weather settles in any more than it already has. Still have the elevon pushrods to sort out, will be getting the engine set up later today (annoy the neighbours!!!![>:]), has a Jett 40 on it, micro servo on throttle and 3001s on the other surfaces, fuel tank is made up of a 2oz and a 4oz joined together.

Looking forward to flying it.

Nicked the idea on the colour scheme from someone else, fraid i did not do much justice but covering is not my area

I was going to route the antenna inside through the tube, but have decided safer to keep it in the wind.

Maybe I should get back to work on mine! It's been sitting for years framed up.
What are you using for mixing the elevons?? Congrats on a great looking ship!

Thanks Rudeboy.

Know of any good add on mixers for the non-mixing Tx's. I thought Ace used to make one, but I've been out of the game for a while! I'd like to use my old 4 ch am Futaba for this one. Thanks for any thoughts on the subject.

Thanks for the compliments guys, did not get the engine started up as i wanted to over the weekend due to the weather and am travelling on a business trip at the mo, so hopefully this weekend, also need to get a warp out of the wing.
There is a couple of mixers around from various suppliers, I have a circuit diagram for one which use a PIC if you are keen.

Flew my DD for the first time with a OS .46 VF motor and a tuned pipe turning a 9x10 APC prop. WOW, You sure can't take your eyes off it for even a second. I must say I am totaly satisfied.

11 years...? And I though I was slow...

If you keep it any longer it will no longer be a "Diamond Dust".... but just plain dust...

Well, dug in my spurs, getting it ready to cover. Hope I can pull off a halfway respectable job cause it's been a while

I wanted to ask if there has been any changes in CG or other improvements I should be aware of?? My plan shows aft CG limit at the front c.f. spar, and fwd. CG about 1 3/4" in front of that.

Thanks again for all the info guys! Great group here!

I balanced mine at the rear most limit... and it flew just fine, even with the rather huge control throws I'm using (needs about 50% expo though).

Seeing how it lands on an empty tank, I think I could even move the CG back a few more millimeters... but it's really not necessary.

Sure got a cool looking wing..I have 2 D-D..You will sure love it..The only thing I want to remind you of is the fact you should probably use high torque..I was using 1004 BB..They striped out and I lost 2 Diamond Dust with them..Now I use 1010 BB futaba..They hold up great and keep the plane from making all the quick jerks..I think it will sure be worth the money for you if you plan on having lots of speed..If you don't plan on going over 120..You will be ok with the ones you are using..Hope this info helps you out and saves you money in the long run..Good luck..Brandon in Florida..

The Hitec 645MG is a monster and they are only $40 each- And since they are NOT digital they work! (Hitec digitals have a suspect reputation-)

107 oz @ 4.8, 133 oz @ 6V

I'm mocking everything up this weekend to get the weight & balance figured. If all goes well, I should be covering next week.

I decided to go with the new 6ch pcm JR....picked it up this morning. I'm thinking it will be the last radio I'll ever need. Picked up all the little odds & ends for the dust too!

You guys have been my inspiration, especially your pics Squid!

Eleven years is long enough.......time to fly this puppy!
(I will get there before 2005) [>:]
