Default Diamond Dust back to Dust...

Well after countless flights and a lot of enjoyment, I mulched that sucker. I'd have a pic of the carnage, but I recently busted my digital camera. Just can't have nuthin'! LOL

Full throttle, down-wind...just the way you'd hope for. Hit real shallow. The airframe was so absolutely disintegrated I honestly thought I was looking at a different crash when I came upon the carnage. It was savage.

Engine and pipe seem ok, radio seems OK..haven't really checked it out real close just yet.

R.I.P

Sorry to hear about your loss, but glad the gear seems ok!

Every airplane has a lifespan, measured in number of flights, any where from one flight to hundreds. Unfortunately, that number is not printed on the outside... or we would know exactly when to retire it.

I'll bet it was spectacular. We have a local speedster here with a DD. he also has a couple of dominator types. He was making a 120mph low pass and clipped a wing on a bush. That thing looked like it had been thrown thru a giant fan and just blew apart. if your gonna go, you may as well make it worth talking about eh?

Default Dust goes to dust...

Chuck,
I am sorry for your loss. I can commiserate because this weekend I trashed my Whiplash. It had been 5 weeks since my last flight, all was going well until final approach. I was a little crossed up, and as it got closer I pushed the rudder more and more until it hit the deck, bounced up, almost hit me, and then did a beautiful endo over and then into the fence. AARRGH!

And then I remembered there ain't no rudder on the 'Lash!

Oh well! BLNT!

RR

Default No problem..

Mine had an OS 46 VRDF ducted fan engine..I don't know how fast speed wise. It turned in the 22~24K range with a 7.4X8.25 prop.
