RE: The Jett 90 is a beautiful thing.
I wet sanded it last night with 2000 grit, takes a tad of the metallic away, but I want a perfectly smooth plane and edges before I put down clear. Probably finish it up this weekend. The bad light in the pictures don't help at all, it has an extreme amount of metal flake in it, looks great in the sun.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Finished up the clear, just need to buff, but thought I'd update the pics. Thanks again for the color scheme Bob, I may keep using this. Easy to paint, good contrast, and looks good in green.
I also attached a picture of what this plane looked like before I stripped it, cleaned it up, and repainted.

Does anybody know what happened to Bob.R? I am trying to revive this thread because I think his Barracuda would be a great plane to have available. Now I realize that his last post was five years ago!

David, good to see here again. I was the lucky one. I contacted Bob and bought the plane from him. If there is interest we can certainly try to find a way to make a mold and make this available to the ballistic pattern enthusiasts. Making RC planes and molds is not my business, so we would have to arrange something with rcaiir or someone that can do this for us.
I'll be getting the plane this week, and will proceed to check it out and fly it. I'll post how this goes here, to keep this thread alive.
Let me know what you think.
Ed

I'd be honored if someone wanted to preserve the design by pulling a mold.
I was rummaging around on an old computer looking for info on the Barracuda and found this 10 year old video:

I need some help to get this baby in the air quickly:
1- My air pump does not fit the valve installed on the plane's retracts, which is too small. Any idea of where I can get the right valve for the pump? They are spring air retracts.
2- Some of the Ultrakote's transparent layer is peeling off. Any suggestions to fix it?
I will try to find time today to check the fuel tank and engine (both look good).
Should be airborne soon!

The Barracuda flew yesterday. Very nice!!!
I got the telemetry which indicated a very high top speed. We had a 10mph wind and I did some 400ft speed dives. Still, not sure if the GPS (which has been reliable) had a false read.
You decide...

Ed, I'm glad the first flight went well. I got a measured 160 mph with the original Jett .90 flying a level race track pattern, so maybe the Jett 1.00 would do 190 mph in a dive.

I had a construction drawing that I worked from, but it was a mash-up of various views and details and largely indecipherable. I do think I have a pdf with plan and elevation views, but no construction details, somewhere on my old computer if that would be of any use.
