This is the engine installation. I took Chuck's advice and remounted the engine.

This is an overall sideview. The colors are Pearl White with Pearl Blue on the top, and...............Pink on the bottom. I won the pink at the club dinner and didn't know where I'd use it without being called a "girlly mon", (west indian accent please).

I opted to have the fins vertical, I also cut the elverons out of the center so I can hold it there. I put some wood where I'll grab it, also the battery is way back there. If I have to change the battery it'll have to be cut out. I haven't hooked up the elverons yet, does everyone use the little guides for the pushrod on the tailfins? I also didn't use the mylar hinges, I just used hinges made from the covering, then covered the small gap with covering.

I'm puting the throttle servo back with the other two, but it's very small and won't come out the top of the hatch. The tank is an 8 oz. that I had on hand. I don't think it was going anywhere, but to be sure and to the fuel out I put Duct tape, the alumium kind, around it, the stuff really hold up well to fuel.

The DD is done. It took about 17hrs to complete. I would guess if I build another one it would be more like 12 hrs total build time.

Fling it tomorrow, flim at 11.

Sorry - I gotta interject.

The correct West Indian phrase is "anti-man."

Get it?

the local vernacular is certainly direct

Rich,

Did you fly the plane? Where do you fly? It would be fun to have more than one DD in the air at once. I mostly fly at the Middlesex County field.

I haven't flown it yet, I've been waiting for it to not be in the 90's. I've found it's no fun to fly when it this hot. I almost went today, but I had bought a Q-500, to get the Jett .40 that was on it, and UPS crushed the wing so I'm waited for them come to inspect it.

I fly at Dorbrook Park HWY 537 in Colt's Neck, during the week.

It would be fun to get together with another DD flier. Where's the Middlesex County field?

What motor you running?

Rich,

We fly in Edison Park (behind Middlesex County College). My DD has a K&B ducted fan engine and moves out pretty good. Here are directions to the park.

Garden State Parkway North

Take Exit 10 (Route 287)
After exiting follow signs for Route 514 West
Make left onto Mill Road
Make 2nd left into park
