For sport performance, I recommend the Jett. I've got a 9 year old Jett 46 that still runs strong and starts on the first couple of flips of the prop. The Jetts may seem pricey, but they are reliable, durable, easy to run (just don't over-prop), and they scream right out of the box without the added expense of a header and pipe. If you really want a pipe, Dub Jett you will set you up with a pre-tuned system. However, you won't be disappointed if you stay with the standard tuned muffler. Just my .02.

Your gonna get addicted to your Outlaw[X(]

Mine was also my first speed plane and it's pleanty fast with the Webra 32 and a mousse can pipe. Both mine and a friend's with an OS 32 regularly smoke the DD's at the field.

The Outlaw was designed around the Webra and while fast that rudder let's you do some way cool things that DD's and Whiplash can't.
Due to this and the thicker airfoil Outlaws can't be as fast as the DD's and Whiplash can be.

DO NOT PUT A JETT ON THE OUTLAW. Is that clear enough? The Outlaw is designed for a lighter engine. The OS or Webra.32 are the ideal. An OS .25 is also a good choice and much cheaper. Do a search on here and you'll find lots of info on servos and set up. The Outlaw is not the highest speed airplane but it is the most fun as it does so much more than go fast, you will end up loving it and taking it to the field before any other airplane. Speeds.... an honest 130 or so, you'll hear speed of 150+ but in reality it won't happen. Use good servos and build it slick, use a pipe(mousse or tuned) and a 8X8 and it'll be fast enough.

I've got a Webra 36 on mine. It's enough to take off at 1/3 throttle right out your hand without a toss.

The webra .36 (and older .32/.33) engines are great. Very powerful. Either a good moouse can muffler or a jett stream muffler make them really come alive.

Since you noted you wanted top end performance and a pipe---- as a suggestion.........

Since the plane was intended for 32 size engines..... take a look at the Jett BSE 35. Drops in where an OS32 will go (and a Webra 32/33/36 if I recall the bolt patterns correctly).

The BSE-35 puts out nearly the same power as the bigger .46, yet weighs just a scoosh more than the OS32. Side exhaust version will turn a 9x6 well over 18K rpm. The FIRE version can be tuned specifically for what ever prop you wish to utilize. Very well behaved and user friendly. Can be ordered as a rear-exhaust or side exhaust. FIRE shown in the attached photo with a welded, pretuned pipe.

if you have a chance, go to the jettengineering.com web site, and request the Hanger Sale list (link on the home page). There are occationally 30,35 and 40L engines listed on there, and you can save a couple of $$.

I hope this is helpful.
