Default F 20 Flight

Hi

Thought I would share a few photos of one of my favorite flying airplanes.

I use her to get ready for flying my Kerosene burning models.

She is the 60 size F20 by Cermark and she has been modified and beefed up all carbon rodes with Hitec 605s. Gear is Robart electric retracts and PCM receiver tops her off. Power-plant is a OS91 with a 10*10 APC prop she run right around 130mph.

The F20 runs like she is on rails in all maneuvers.

The F 20 are sweet flying airplanes I don't know why you can't find them anymore.

Razor

The engine is the OS91 with a Mac Tun pipe. She pulls hard and doesn't break the bank I hand a Friend with a Jet 90 and his was a bit faster.

Hey Ian,

You know, there is a "kerosene burning" model of the F-20 too. I believe it was available in the UK by the Thorpe brothers ( I was drooling over my keyboard lookin' at it)

Love the F-20's!! They do fly great, don't they?

Anyone has experience with the Sportsman Aviation F20 40 ARF??? Hobby People carries it for 150 bucks. Looks just slightly different than the Kangke that I just bought.

No one yet, Doc....they just came out. Some one should have one
up soon....weather permiting. I fly the Cermark version, and it
is very stable and predictable....they are all pretty much the same.

The little F-20's are a good way to get some fast/cheap thrills, they
will go very nicely with almost any .46-.53 motor.

Smitty,

Cermark was the only one that carried the 60 size F-20, as far as I know. They've been discontinued for a few years now. Keep an eye out in the Marketplace here at RCU, E*BAY, or some of the other R/C sites. They're hard to come by these days.

I heard Cermark was going to come out with a "New and Improved" version of their F-16, so you may want to contact them. Stay away from their "older" version, however. (My Bro actually has one of these NIB for sale)

Other options, would be kits like the Patriot, AKM Mig 29 or SU-27 Flanker if it's the "jet" look your after.

Good Luck!

didn't need four of them.

Speed? Get a Weston Magnum, Pylon plane or ACM WHiplash for pure speed...

The funny thing I found is that a BVM Mavrick fly's almost exactly like the F20 does.

My F20 weights in at 9 lbs even no fuel. My BVM Turbine Mavrick is 15 lbs. Since they are both about the same scale the F20 is a great warm up for the Mavrick and I'm happy with this setup only because I am taking a building break for a while.

Take Care
Ian

Now, that's good to know! If I ever take the plunge into turbines, I'll know what to buy!

9 lbs.? You said it goes 130? The OS-91 is not the DF engine?

Mine is a pig and the wing is too thick to go anywhere near that fast---

Razor

My F 20 doesn't have the OS91 ducted fan engine on it. It is using a regular OS 91 FX motor.

http://www.osengines.com/engines/osmg0591.html

The biggest thing I did was seal up the plane. I have gear doors on the mains and nose. She has a scant 8 oz of fuel.
Running a 10 * 10 prop keeps the motor spinning at 14.8K RPM on the ground.

Pylon racers and delta's just doesnt have the same effect..
