Default .....the Jaguar (ARF) arrived.....

Looks like I'm going to have to order me up another SJ 50. Construction look decent , but really won't know until I start the build.

Wing is thin, but rear stab isn't. I could see a complete recover to make some mods, but don't know if I'll go that route.

A couple pics fer ya...

Cool! Have you hired a professional builder for your "projects"? Just a different option since they build straight and can complete a given project within the same fiscal year as it was started![X(]

Just kidding- Who make sthis thing?

You know the plane is really cool but those colors are going to be a *&^%$. If you going to put your own scheme on. now would be the time to do it. Camoflauge at 120mph? Not me!

James, you a funny guy....maka me laugh.....

The model is from Super Flying Model Co.

This is where I bought them from:

http://www.mth.com.tw/htms-en/enindex.htm

Hey Mike, I may recover, not sure yet (If I split the aileron servos) This thing has torque rods, which I am not a fan of. I could always add a couple stripes on the bottom of the wing. The bottom is solid green.

I need to finish the "Rifle".

The colors are fine, just don't blink

Green is a good color against the sky in my opinion. Easy to pick up when its bright or cloudy.

Honestly i wouldn't even try it.green on the bottom? I have yet to have new plane I left as it was. The Planes are nice but the color schemes are like "Rainman.' If you look at my Ultra Sport or Midget somewhere in here, That particular color of "Ultracoat red" sticks out great with the raised white lettering. The bottoms of all my planes are white. This helps me keep my bearing when I am on a bit of a downwind leg . I just rock the wing a couple times and the white sticks right out.

I bought 2 of these in 1997 from Sheldon's in San Jose, 1 white and 1 camo. The camo was flown first, as my first plane after being out of the hobby for 10 years (I know....). Anyway, I thought the thing flew squirrelly, especially when I flew it into a fence. The white one I modified to look like an A-7 and it's sitting in my rafters with a Magnum 45 FSR in the nose, waiting for the day to be flown into another fence. Keep updating the tthread, and I might have to find a pasture with no fences and fly it.

Dave,

I agree, green shows up nice against a blue sky. I'm just glad it's the green/brown, rather than brown/tan.....especially where we fly (high desert)! [X(]

Mike,

My F-20 is solid red....top and bottom, and so far have not had a problem with orientation. First flights with these fast planes I like to have a spotter....just in case.

Hey Warjet,

I had the red, white, & blue one a few years back, but I don't remember it being squirelly. I flew that one with a OS 61 FX up front. I do remember it bouncing on landings, however. The SJ 50 should be a perfect motor for it.

Now that I have it, I think it will be an incentive to get back in the hobby room, and start making sawdust! I've been goofing off, far too long now.

Hey Tim, would you be up for flying at El Mirage? If you are not familiar with the local it is near San Bernardino and is a huge dry lake bed...

That is where Gary and Flyboy Dave fly--- LOTS of room and no fences (That I have come across-)

We are getting ready for a speed plane get together as soon as the mud dries up there--

Hey Bob,

Is the SJ 50 muffler available in "camo", as opposed to Dubb "red"? It's really gonna clash with it...

Mike,

I haven't finished mine, but my Buddy did finish his and had the maiden flight last weekend. His thoughts are the same as yours.....RECOVER the dang thing. (It's currently in the "stripped" condition, ready for recovering. That didn't take long, did it?) He said it was very hard to see, and didn't want to blink when flying it.

I'll have to keep this in mind when I start mine. BTW, he did say it flew awesome, and he had the OS 61FX up front as I had in my first one.

Anyway, just thought I would give you an update as I know you were curious from your PM.

How did you order the model?

The SF website doesn't seem to have a shopping cart or list prices.

Aloha,

Haze

Click the "link" above, and send them an email. The email address is at the bottom of the main page. I bought 2 of them to make it worth while.

Isaac, I think I paid just over 2 bills each, shipped to So. Ca.

Hey "Mr. Truck Driver", aka "Squeeky", aka "Donny",

Did you start the recover yet? Do you have a digital camera to take some pics? BTW, all my radios have been packed...... [&o]

They were actually very helpful, and I had a very quick response. Try them again, maybe there was a problem with your first email.

my friend just recently gave me on of these, but he was not the original owner so no info on it. Fast little airplane, but a bit rough around the edges, any ideas on where i could find another kit and/or parts? I cannot locate any info on the web about this airplane.

ps- running a thunder tiger pro 46 on it.

thanks in advance.
