Just picked up Cermark F-16... nice
I got a call from my LHS telling my F-16 had arrived. Very nice glass fuse , carbon fibre reinforcement on stress points, decals already attached, wings attached via wing tube and screws as well as vertical stabilizer, full flying stabilizer, tricycle retracts included in kit, spinner and all hardware included also. I am going to use a thunder tiger ninety one for power

Man that thing is sweet! Is that the new version of the F-16? I heard a rumor that cermak was redoing it, but I didn't think it would be that dramatic! Are the retracts mechanical or pneumatic? It looks like they shorted the fuse a bit and redid the canopy but I really like it! Let us know how she turns out!

The kit comes with all three mechanical retracts, each requiring its own retract servo. I will use spring airs with an electronic valve to save the weight of three servos and servo extensions. I will post more pics when buildind starts maybe tonite.

That IS mighty nice looking.
I had been keeping an eye out on their website for info on it. As far as I can tell, there is still no info on the F-16 on the Cermark website.

Hi Alfplaza, i bought mine from my local hoby shop. Their website is :
http://www.hobby-zone.com/default.php
It is a very high quality ARF plane. Good luck on getting one. I am almost finished building mine. All
that is left is installing the Thunder Tiger 91 on the nose and minor details

Yours came with the retracts and nose cone? my buddy got his last week, and no retracts or nose cone was with it yet, they were getting updated ones or something he said...
But, the plane is very nice, and a great deal for $300 if it flies as good as it looks!

The day I picked it up it was missing the manual, spinner, and retracts. These parts were delivered the next day . The manual is simply about 8 pages and they are only black and white copies of digital photos, no text. Im sure Cermark will develop a more detailed manual for people with less experience.

How small are the wheels in the stock set up??? I wonder if this can fly off grass runway. We don't have paved runways anywhere around here in Oregon.[&o]

After numerous tries with different control throws and expo dialed in I was still unable to keep it tracking straight down the runway. I am currently installing spring air and oleo struts on my F-16 which will also have pull-pull control for steering. That will definitely fix my problem. I will post pics when conversion is done.

I finished the installation of spring airs with robostruts. The nose gear is a little longer than I wanted but is ok for now. The plane tracks 100% better than before thanks to the pull-pull setup with high torque servo. I will try to maiden it tomorrow morning if the weather permits. Will post flight report if I take it up. Is there anyone else out there with this kit?

RE: Just picked up Cermark F-16... nice
Just finished maiden flight and went better than anticipated considering that I did not have the manual , therefore no CG recommendation from manufacturer.
The hobby shop where I purchased it told me the cg was 10.5 inches from leading edge. Now thats about half of the wing chord. This didnt sound right and no one responded
to my post in another thread regarding this matter. So I placed the cg at about 9 inches. Any ways on the first flight after she was trimmed out i decided to do a landing approach to get a feel at how she slows down and it did slow down quite well. After one pass I ligned up to land with a little less than 1/4 throttle and she floated in at a high alpha and I flaired her right before a perfect touchdown. I had about half a tank of fuel on board. Now the second flight I flew for about 9 minutes and almost emptied the tank and I
noticed the pane was very twitchy on landing , it took me about 4 times to go around again because of how violently she flew when getting close to ground. I finally got her down in one piece no incident. I have come to the conclusion that she is tail heavy and will remove some lead from the tail. Top speed looked ok , vertical was ok , plane flew with
authority. I m happy with it and recommend it for those who want the jet thrill without spending 4 grand. I will try to post a video clip of my takeoff and landing.
