Cool idea...this should be a fun thread to follow....especially for inspiration!! This has been a pretty busy winter for this kid, the 'need for sport and speed' bug bit me in the fall and the result is 4 new projects.....after building many scale models, the change has been refreshing...now we just need some good weather to be able to do some flying!! [8D]

OK, so below are pics of these 4 projects (also posted in various areas of this forum):

1. Lanier Shrike 10, engine is a magnum .15 with a tuned pipe. Modifications include rotating the engine around to run the pipe under the belly and then making an integral fiberglass belly pan/shroud to protect the pipe. Finish is monokote and epoxy paint. Graphics by CustomCutGrafix.

2. ACM Whiplash. It's been painted but I still need to install the radio gear and mount the Jett FIRE 50. No modifications made. Finish is epoxy paint over testors enamel. Graphics by me.

3. Diamond Dust, built as stock basically. Modified the engine area slightly by raising the engine up 1/4" and adding a nose ring behind the spinner and fairing it in accordingly. This replaces my old Diamond Dust with a worn out K&B 6.5 RIRE...have a new identical engine for this new diamond dust. Finish is Ultracote. Graphics by CustomCutGrafix.

4. Scratch built from plans, a Microjet2. This 1/2A design has a stock Enya .09 shoehorned into it. Built basically per the plans, although some modifications were made to increase structural strength. Finish in monokote. Graphics by CustomCutGrafix.

Can't wait to fly these new birds!! Another new plane that I finished last year but haven't flown yet is a totally scrachbuilt DH Sea Hornet with twin HB 15's on it. Should sizzle as well. I'll try and post some pics later of it....

I have to install my old drive to get the rest of the pics. Here is what I have including the new Edge 540T powered by a YS63s.

The Pattern ship is Jett 90L powered and the 51 is YS110FZ powered.

Hey mustangace,

It looks like your kitty is about to tear into somebody with those claws ready! I wish my pets would defend my airplanes. I have a dog that FELL on two separate airplanes and both needed minor repairs. My airplanes are usually crashed before they're finished...

P.S. I don't have any really speedy planes but I'm planning on getting a patriot. Can I be a member of the revver brotherhood? Pleeeeezze??

johntheroadie- Copy and paste the application form the Speed Freak Brotherhood thread and Flyboy Dave will issue you a number---

There are MANY Patriot fans in here (and yes, I capitalize the word Patriot- thats how much I love them!)

As to the dogs, I have 2 Irish Wolfhounds (Tallest breed of dog on the planet) and their tails are like a T-Rex! Gotta watch them all the time--

Well, until I find another Zip Drive (I blew mine up) , these will have to do:

One is my Royal Bearcat done up as Howard Pardue's Reno Racer "Bearcat", ST .90
The other is my BUSA Smoothie, Fox .46BB ABC. Believe it or not, it goes like a scalded cat. I've had to rebuild the wing twice to stop some flutter. It's quiet now and just flat hauls.

I'm trying to find others, but I KNOW my Holy Smoke and Patriot pics are on the Zip Disks. They are currently lounging in my garage in California so I can't take more pics of them at this time.

Whiplash #3 is an X model and is missing in action. It is (was) the yellow whip in the first two pictures. Jett sport 50

Whiplash #4 is an X model and has the Jett FIRE 50 from Whip #2 it was going to get a four stroke (SSBB Suck Squeeze Burn & Blow). But could not hold enough fuel. Painted purple with yellow flames. Topflight lustercoat is fuelproof but sprays poorly.

How do you keep that stuff hidden from your wife? I get busted just looking at yours[X(].

Well, I had W-Y2k problem, the Wife in 2000 decided she wanted to fly solo from her own hangar. So I got the airport and dog and my freedom to spend as I choose. I found the Extreme Speed Planes fit in the trunk in The Vette I bought two years ago. Now I have a girlfriend who can assemble one on my jets! She bought a 1/4 scale Patty Wagstaff Extra 300 for my birthday and is learning to fly.

A new Magnum R CAME TODAY! and a Whiplash X is in the paint shop.
