Why not build several while you're at it? You'd have an extra in the unlikely event the first doesn't survive long, and I'd be interested in buying a built one from you. What do you think?

RE: Shrike .10 - construction thread
Ok guys:
the model was started about 2 month ago, but i think that the building process could give only 2 weeks (i'm really busy these days).
It will be equipped whit a TT .15 rather than an OS .15 la blue because the firs one has ball bearing. i think that it will be a screamer during flight session.
the airplane was built according to the plans, with no modification. i only added 3 screw to help the positioning of tails.
as you can see from photos, i'm planning to fly with a pair of digital servos. i'm not crazy: they are waiting another model, but until its finishing, i want test it into a simple airplane.
its weight is 780gr without covering and fuel tank. this weight is comprehensive of:
tt .15
2x futaba digital servo
1x TH BB servo
1x 4-cell battery pack
i started today the covering job. my target is a Thunderbirds scheme, because i have a decal sheet that come from a Sig Kobra kit.
these decals appear of good quality.
I hope to post some other photos soon

Nice job on the Shrike build so far, and good choice of color scheme! I did my Shrike 10 in the T-bird scheme too. [8D] Here's a picture of my modified Shrike...has a Magnum 15 with tuned pipe on it. The pipe runs under the fuse in a integral 'tunnel'.

hi smchale,
my painting choice come from your photos: i've found your ones some time ago, and i liked it.
I hope also to obtain the sing from real pilot if they came in Italy at Aviano AFB. I want a "signed airplane".
I'll try also to fix a BBI head and helmet, but it is too big.
Bye

I took the idea from another chap on here as well....imitation, the greatest form of flattery!
The pilot would look really cool if it was smaller....they even make a T-birds version, but he is too big.
My pilot is modified from a 1:12th scale williams brothers pilot. Here is the original, and what I did to him. Mostly, just trimmed the visor to fit inside the helmet, added an oxygen mask and hose with filler and wire, and added a raised up portion on the helmet to simulate where the visor would hide.....then painted it to suit...best part, i didn't have to paint any eyes!!

RE: Shrike .10 - construction thread
Hello all!
Well I finished my Shrike .10 and maidened today. It's a really nice flying airplane. One question for those of you that have one of these things...
What size prop are you running on yours? I am running a 7X6 on an OS Max .15. I am kinda disappointed in the speed. Don't get me wrong, it's a fast plane, but I was thinking it would be butt puckering fast! Or did I just get my hopes up to much?
Thanks Again!

HI CASEY! I like to play with .15s too. I think you have probably got the best prop for the job on it already. The FP and LA give decent power for the price. If you are willing to go without a throttle, some more rpm is lurking with the control line venturi and open exhaust. I have been interested in the K&B .18 which is a light weight .15 in the same price range as the OS. The other way to go if you REALLY want a hot .15 is the CYCLON. Now we are talkin' pucker factor!
