Scale Speed Planes vs Q500/Q40 Types
What does everybody here like to see for a speed plane? Do you like the Q500/Q40 purpose designed types that don't really look like anything scale or do you like scale models that haul?
I am currently working on a set of plans for a 40% Cassutt Racer and it occurred to me that there might be some interest here for something like this. It is not a big 40% model, with a 72" span, 1550sqin and 77" length, target weight is 14-15lb. My primary interest with it is scale aerobatics, with a G-62 for power. But there is nothing stopping someone from overpowering it with an 80cc single (even the 62 on a sub-15lb model is LOTS of power) and propping it for speed. It is a clean airframe and will have a thin wing, so it should move along nicely with the right engine/prop combination.
The plans would be basic and would require prior scratchbuilding experience and have no instruction sheet with them. On the plus side, they would be free, too. PDF format, electronic only. Printing would be your problem.
What says the list? I have no time frame for these, but just wondering if I should draw them up better than I would strictly for my own use.
