Default New Dust - any mods I need to make.....

Hey crew,

I stayed up late last night framing my new dust.

YS .45 and mac pipe, JR 4131s - 6v 1500 pack, 8 oz tank.

so should I continue to build this thing stock or what mods would you all suggest -

and what about landing this thing - it seems heavy....

also I need to replace the header bolts on the YS - I've lost the bolts that came with the header - anyone know what size these are and where I could get some - mac's I guess....

I am trying to upload a picture of it - but I keep getting some kind of upload error... any suggestions....

I say keep it light. Mine came out to 2 lbs 12 oz. (no fuel) with a SJ 50. 3 lb. max should be easy with the right radio gear. I used Hitec 225 BB for the elevons and a JR micro for the throttle. 600 batt. is more then enough and you will probably be ready to land after 6 oz. fuel. There is enough wing area to land fairly slow at 3 lbs. Maybe your pics are too large for this site.

Which Mac's pipe are you using for your YS 45? I am wanting to put one on my DD but the Mac's pipe (#9400)I bought needs a Mac's adapter (#6678) which Mac's were supposed to have sent to me over a week ago and has never arrived. Called their office to see what was up but the office person there didn't know how to run their computers so she couldn't look up the invoice so I may have to go with a different pipe and was curious as to which one your is. Thanks....

Looks GOOD! Might as well frame up 2 more while you still have the original frame to look at.

HANDGLIDER, if you have a kite shop in the area, they can sell the FG tubing. I'll bet there isn't more than $10 reatail worth of tubing in the airframe, and $2 worth of wood. I scratch built my DUST from photos that were posted here at this forum. Another money saving tip is to bring a 4-40 control rod with you to the kite shop and get some carbon tubes that are a tight fit over the 4-40 wire. Also, un waxxed dental floss can be used to tie down the FG sticks.
