Robart/springair for F16
I just purchased the Cermark F16 propjet and I am having a heck of a time finding the Robart equivalent of the Spring air #705. It recommends the spring air #705. I would like to try the new Robart economy series retracts, but how do I find the exact replacement of the SA 705's? We all know how dissappointing it is to have to mail things back and forth and wait for UPS, so I would like to get it right on the first shipment. Any ideas?
BTW: Cermark's customer service is unmatched. I received emails and phone calls after ordering with those guys!

RE: Robart/springair for F16
Thanks for the reply. I was referring to the pneumatic Robarts. I thought the new series was air, maybe I am wrong. But here is the delimma. I have an air tank/lines/valves,etc. All I need are the retracts and Spring air only sells the complete system (my understanding, anyway). I only need the actual gear mechanics. I agree with you 100%, I will never use mechanical retracts if I can get away with it!

....someone must have an extra set of cylinders/mounts in the shack.
See what shakes out. I had a Cermark F-16 with mech's on it....look in the
dictionary under "junk"....there's a picture of them. [sm=stupid.gif]
I put an OS 1.08 FSR in the plane, and it would not taxi....the nose wheel
just flopped around like a wet noodle. It looked funny....but I was not amused. []
I ended up with a straight non-retractable nose wheel strut. (honest) [X(]
FBD.

Thats pretty funny. I have certainly had my share as well! I cannot believe the difference in the older F16 and the new ones. Looks like a completely different model. What speed did you get from that set-up?

The new ones look great....I once described my F-16 as a telephone pole
with stabilizers on it.
I got it from a friend who had a new OS .91 FX....with Macs mini-pipe on it.
I wouldn't even get out of it's own way. The only RPM's we could get out of
it was with a 13-6....no kidding....what a dog.
Long story short....he pulled the engine and sold it....gave me the plane for some
repairs I did for him on another plane. The 1.08 overpowered the so called .60
sized plane....it went maybe 110 or so, but the cheap plastic fake air scoop
buffeted real bad. I had the replacement fiberglass piece....but it had been
sitting for too long, and was too warped to put on the plane. [X(]

Take a look at their price list... you can get every item in their inventory seperately.

I looked it over fairly completely at Toledo and spoke with the folks at Cermark. The model they have on display has a header and mini-pipe that terminate just inside of the inlet, prior to the nose gear.

I ordered the Robarts paid for 2nd day shipping and when they did not show up I called to find out that they are on back order... I cancelled the order. called spring air and had mine the next day. The 705s were a perfect fit in the new F-16

RE: Robart/springair for F16
are the springair 705's rotating retracts? looking at the (lear31a) pics can't figure out how the mains fold in...?
can anyone explain please? I have a set of B&D pneumatic trike (see link below) and I was wondering if I could use those...

The gear retract forward and do not rotate. They are mounted at an angle and simply retract forward. Those gear you have will fit ( I have an old set that I considered using). I elected not to because I want stronger wire legs.
