Default shirke 10 finished

Just finished my shrike and thought someone might enjoy the pics.
os.25 tuned pipe, carbon spars, sheeted wing.
I used a lot of ideas that I found on the forum so hopefully this baby will hold up!

Before, of course. Didn't realize I needed to post proof that it survived. [X(] What kind of details? It's got a K&B 3.5 FIRE, oversized (Irvine, I think) carb, Macs tuned pipe, GWS mini servos (Park L on throttle and something stronger, but can't remember the model, on ailerons and elevator), 350 mah nimh battery, Hitec Electron 6 receiver. Total weight ended up at around 2.2 pounds.

I only took one flight today. It was the first time I had run the engine anywhere other than on the stand. Took a long time to get it running reliably. By the time I finally flew it I didn't want to chance another one, even though it appears the batter had plenty of juice left. That and I only brought one pair of shorts. [X(]

The flight was nothing short of spectacular, until the engine died. Then I got to see how it glides. Fortunately, it was high enough that I had plenty of momentum. As it was decending I first worried about making it to the field. Then my worry turned to "this thing is still going way too fast to land". However, I was able to coax it down just fine.
