RE: THE NEW CERMARK F-16 BUILD IT BETTER, STRONGER, AND FASTER!!!
I have one from a crashed bird that I never rebuilt. It's a newest model that latches in the back. It's from the Generaly Dynamics color scheme. PM me if you're interested. There are some pictures of it in post #1494 on page 60 of this thread.

Mr. Chao,
I would like to order one. I believe there are others who would like one also. Please consider making a production run. Others out there may not know about this thread, so you will not see request for them even though they want one.
Thanks,
FLY-N-HIGH

Okay I'm busy redoing my F-16p version 3 because it needs it!LOL. I would like to finish it in the Israel airforce scheme. I need a bit of advice regarding the weight on these planes. I will use the Jett 90 motor with a pipe.
My idea is to paint the jet in the Israeli color scheme.
I have removed the covering on the wings , elevator and rudder and started to sand down the fuselage now.........I really must keep the weight in mind but still want a good finish.
1. What would you use to cover the wings, elevator and rudder to be airbrushed/painted?
a). Thin Fiber cloth and sealed with resin and then painted
b). Grey solartex and then painted.
c). Use oracover to match the painted fuzz.( Last option)
2. Is the Cermark F-16 between a 1/9th and a 1/8th scale jet ?
Reason for asking is because I'm not sure what size decals I need.
3. Has anyone or can I scale/enlarge a 1/32 F-16 plastic model decal sheet to match the scale of the jet?
My mind says that the quality will start to blurr?
Do you think I'm planning for a disaster by painting it?

It was the Version 3 that was determined to have a starting CG of about 7.5". I last flew mine at at about 7.8".
Cheers.

Nice 16. Looking at your model and the specs above two things jumped out at me. Im pretty sure that your 16 is a Version 2 and the recomended starting CG is 8.5''. You might double check that with Cermark or in some of the earlier post in this thread. I see you note an APC 13x10, but if your able to shift the CG back some it may help with slowing the model down for landing. JMO.

I will change some setup.
Maybe the next flying try to 8"CG, 12X9 and more big Elevator Throw.

RE: THE NEW CERMARK F-16 BUILD IT BETTER, STRONGER, AND FASTER!!!
Ah, now I know why your engine didn't sound like a Jett 90LX in your video. It's that 13x10 prop! According to Jett's website, your engine has the shorter muffler and higher port timing. It appears to me that they recommend an 11x8 or a 12x7. A 12x8 is what a lot of people use, but they may have the longer red muffler. A friend of mine runs an 11x7 on his Jett 90L with the longer muffler. It turns 16,000 on the ground and sounds like an Indy car when it makes high speed pass. The bad side is that 12 ounces of fuel only lasts 5 minutes!
Bob Brassell, where are you? Isn't that 13x10 too much prop?

I'm upstairs and all my Jett tech data sheets are down in the shop. I too think a 13 x 10 prop is too much for the 90LX and I'm using a Jett 90LX on my F16. I started with and continue to run an APC 11 x 8. The engine turns about 15-16,000 in the air. These engines love to crank. Be careful you may overheat yours.

RE: THE NEW CERMARK F-16 BUILD IT BETTER, STRONGER, AND FASTER!!!
on the 90LX engine, 12x6 at the MOST prop wise!! you want to see it turning no less than 14,000 rpm ground peak.
11x8, 11x9, 12x6 ..... and in really good air you can try a 12x8
Best choice for the F-16 is the 11x8

Mine has been collecting dust for the last year. I have the 90 LX on mine with an 11X8 prop. RPM on the ground is around 15,500.
I may have to wipe off the cob webs in the spring and get it flying again.

Took mine out the other day for a couple of flights. I am running a 91FX, I was wondering if there would be any advantage to change to the new 95AX? I am using the Jett long red pipe.

If I remember correctly, the shorter Jettstream muffler is tuned for higher rpm's than the long version. I think Dub tuned that shorter one for rpm's at least 14,500. That 13x10 is too much prop either way. I've always run my Cermark f16/Jett 90 with apc 11x9 ideally or 11x8. I had trouble with ground clearance off grass field with 12" props.
By the way, the smaller version 3 F16 is faster and more scale look. But the older version 2 comes in slower with that big old wing.

I put 3 more flights on mine this weekend and as old as it is and how many flights it has it still flys @#$%!~*& great! The Jett 90 still revs like a son of a #$%^&.It is as much fun to fly as my turbine verson.I wish Cermark would make these again they had a winner with the F-16 line.I had verson 2 and 3 they both fly great.I have the second verson hanging up one the cieling and plan on redoing it.I wore it out.Anyone else still flying theres?Pete what happened?

RE: THE NEW CERMARK F-16 BUILD IT BETTER, STRONGER, AND FASTER!!!
ok, got a used one of these 16s and flew it today for the first time...kind of a turd in the sky this thing. Im running a OS 91FX with a 12*8 prop and 15% nitro...plane was turd. Not sure on my rpms but OS recomends 13*8 or 13*9 prop...Im seeing a lot of people going to smaller props but Im not sure which way to go with the 91FX. I want speed... any thoughts? I'll post a vid of todays flight within the next couple of days. I just want this plane to fly as fast as it looks, I was hoping for around at least 80-90mph or faster. Thanks guys.
