Magnum R possible mods
Has anyone used a rear exhaust motor and buried or partially buried a pipe under the canopy/turteldeck area on on of these? It seems like a logical conversion, though perhaps real estate is a bit scarce to completely conceal the pipe. I ask because I bought one motor/plane combo, and a second airframe only thinking I might need a spare..
How much insulation/protection and what sort is required for a thin glass epoxy layup to survive being real close to a tuned pipe? I can get my hands on plently 1/16" x 2" wide alumina mat, which certainly should be enough, but wonder if it is overkill.
Thx
