Default MAT .21 Racing Engine ??

Hi Guys,

Just won this engine on ebay for hardly anything , may be lucky may not..........

But ive never heard of this make apprantly its a MAT .21 Racing Engine ???

The seller posted this with it 'MAT .21 racing engine This engine has had very little use and is extremely powerful for its size it is capable of 21,000 rpm. it is fitted with a irvine super silencer for extra power. This will make a streamline aeroplane very fast.

Any info on this engine ? if it runs ok im looking to put it in a Hand Lanuch Cambrian Fun Fighter

Thx

That is an OPS Club 20 racing engine I think... it sure looks like it anyway...

If it is, and it's in good shape, then you've got a very nice engine there.

Like the seller said, it should be propped to run over 20K for best power. If it is indeed in good shape it should get there on an APC 7x6. The APC 7x6W is slightly too heavy for these engines.

The IRVINE angled super silencer is intended for pylon planes, preferably mounted inside the fuselage... that's why it's angled...

I understood the MAT engines where russion copies of the OPS Club 20 engine. Prop it with an APC 7x6 and you'll be happy.

You can find a lot club 20 pictures on my site to give you an idea of the planes where these engines are designed for.

Hi Guys,

I take this engine will just start at Full Revs as thiers no Throttle arm, and i guess u have to fly until ur fuel tank runs out

Im thinking of putting it in the below Delta its an ATS BAT (one of those corrigated plastic wings) should shift it with this in, got this from ebay for a whole $2

What we do in Club 20 racing with these engines, is building a tank with a fixed fuel pick up at the bottom of the tank... that way, you can kill the engine by going inverted.
Or you could just fly it dry, but the ability to kill the engine in flight can come in handy when you noticed it's too lean for instance...

By the way Paulus, will you be at the Ambiorix Cup again this year?
