Default Rare Bear

.........won at Reno this year. Awesome race. It really is rewarding to see in person.

The fastest motor sport in the world! Pushing 500mph.

Thats an extreme speed prop plane.

I'm hoping Dago Red will come back next year. Last year he set a world speed record, oh well.

Yeah, I was watching the coverage on pylon1.com

Hopefully next year RB, Streag AND Dago Red in the Gold.

I saw that Strega has some weird engine issues on two brand new race engines.

The new bipes and sport class planes were a real treat. That is the real future of air racing. Nice innovation and engineering going on there.

Sorry to see J. Sharp had a few issues. Eye infection and a goofy landing gear door. Next year

dago was out this year - i hear - because it's tied up in a (divorce) settlement - so it's unsettled.

strega had metal in the oil in both engines because of bearing failure - she'll be back next year

rare bear had problems (but since there was no competition, it won anyways) with engine power. they had modified the wing to make it faster which in turn, messed up the airflow dynamics at the air intake ports - so penny reported that he couldn't get full power out of the engine.

i did not stick around all of sunday because we had to hit the road - we knew rare bear would win anyways unless of a major engine problem. what i heard is that penny announced his retirement as rarebear pilot in the winners circle. i heard it was a tear jerker for him.

wonder who will be his replacement?
