RE: EARTH to Flyboy Dave. Where has the man gone to?
Think is saw FD on the electric forum yesterday. Yea, he apparently has lost what is left of his mind, but some of the electrics are a blast. Have one by rcxplanes.com that is the best ever of all including the shocks and balsa ships. My life would be almost complete and content if I could find a good, very fast and turn left ship for my Jett BSE 90L. Krangke F20 and GP Little tony are ok, but just not enough speed to compete with my local club racing open class. Rever #119

Last I heard, Dave was taking the scenic route north to Washington along the coast for a little R&R.
Not sure when he will be back, but he hasn't left us

Yep, thats me with the Tensor. I can't fly speed planes in the yard, so these little electrics help keep the thumbs in shape. I wore out my tribute, and liked it, so stuck with the e-flight stuff.

The foamies are a different world, aren't they?!
I was hesitant at first, because they don't have an airfoil (most of 'em anyway ) and the profile fuse. ain't one of my favorite things either, but...well, you know I guess.
A lot of the "old school" guys are surprised at what ya can do with 'em...especially when you have something like 70 deg. of elev. deflection, aye?!
I fly the snot out of my Tribute (mostly at night, in a well lit parking lot ) and H-L Yak 55...
Got a Reflection on the building board now...

I agree, I love my Tensor, I've been flying one since before last christmas and it's still in decent shape, I built a second one last month waiting for the crash that will destroy #1. Those rolling circles 6 inches off the deck are way too much fum!!!

RE: EARTH to Flyboy Dave. Where has the man gone to?
Last I heard, he had changed his name to Floatboy Dave and swithed to the RC Boat forums (he got sick of those high speed crashes and bringing the plane back home in a bag)....

Bretheren....
....I took a little vacation, a 16 day road trip to Washington State. I took the
slow, scenic route all the way up the Calif. coast....then up through Oregon
to Washington. I saw a couple fellas I used to work with at the motorcycycle
shop I hadn't seen in 20 years....it was great.
I met up with Ernie Milsner and flew with the Fellas at Flaming Geyser Nat'l.
Park in Wash. and had a great time....the weather was perfect that day.
Then all the way up to Brinnon, Wash., were we loaded up another of my old
friends stuff in my trailer....and moved him back down to So. Calif.
We (another old friend and my cat) took the long way home too....all the way
down Hwy 395 through the Sierra Mts. The autumn colors were real nice. [8D]
Don't ask about the gasoline....[X(]
Well, I'm kinda glad you Guys missed me....I tried to sneak out quietly....
Dave.

You know, Fellas....this is why I love this hobby so much, and why I have
stayed in it so long. You Guys are great, and we have good time and a few
laughs. The same thing with these Guys up at Flaming Geyser. They didn't
know me from Adam. I was the first one at the field that day ( I camped
right outside the gate overnight ) and they made me welcome.
This is a message I just got from the VP of the Club, Dave. He's the big guy
with the yellow shirt and shorts. He gave me a "check flight" to show
proficiency, and issued me a club membership (temp) on the spot. Check
out their site, and the nice aerial pic of the field.
Check out all the salmon in the stream at the edge of the field. [X(]

Uhhmm, So Dave, Did you fly a Flaming Geezer plane at Flaming Geyser? [sm=bananahead.gif] I am glad you had a good time on your trip Brother[8D]. I visit different feilds in the Carolinas all the time. Its a lot of fun to get togeather with guys you meet here in RCU too. There are a bunch of Carolina guys in the 1/2a forum and we all got togeather last weekend for a pylon race. We had a ton of fun.

RE: EARTH to Flyboy Dave. Where has the man gone to?
Vic, all I took with me was the old Super Kaos and the Ultra Stick. The grass was
too long for the little wheels on the Kaos....grass fields lend themselves to tail
draggers. I put the Ultra Stick together and the right aileron wouldn't work. The
extension had come unplugged inside the wing.
I thought I was all done, with only one flight on the Kaos. Ernie went down to the
river and came back with a split-shot sinker and some monofilament fishing line. Dave
went up to the Ranger station, and came back with some string. I got the aileron
reconnected and the plane flying in no time....thanks to the cool Fellas al Flaming
Geyser Park.
They sent me my Membership card....I'm an Official Geezer at Geyser. #220
