Patriot 40 ARF
Hey guys,
I am pulling my old patriot 40 arf out of the attic. I crashed it about 6 or 7 years ago, and now I would like to fix it back up. It wasn't a bad crash, just a lot of the molded plastic parts were damaged. I need a few of the parts like the molded tail piece that goes on the bottom, and the little cone that goes on the very end that resembles a jet engine pipe. Ohh and an engine mount and a cowl. Does anyone know where I can get these parts at???
Thanks
john

Nope-
I used a cowling from a Lanier F-4 prop-jet on mine... I do not have the tail piece on the bottom but you can make a tail-cone out of a plastic container or something- then paint it
It would be pretty easy to just shape a balsa cowl and glass it to-
Cheers!

James,
Where did you get that piece of garbage? Put a spinner on that fits the cowl, you're creating drag......and fix that flat tire. Sheesh, what we gonna do with you??
AWAC,
The Great Planes Arf's from a few years back all used that cheap plastic crap, use balsa to get it back in shape. Good luck with the repair.

RE: Patriot 40 ARF
Thanks for all the replys guys, it's coming along ok. After I took all the layers of dust and grease off of it, it is a really pretty airplane now with very little wear. Just the tail and engine broke off of it years ago in the crash. One thing that bothers me is the tail pieces. They don't look strong enough! At first the rudder and stab appears to be built out of 3 pieces of balsa, but actually it's just the center piece that makes up the whole fin. Has anyone ever had a problem of these coming off in flight? Any ideas on how to re-inforce them?? Also I wonder if the kit cowl would work on the ARF??
Thanks for all your help
